La Soirée Blanche

I would say that last weekend was a pretty unusually enjoyable one for me. The PARCO next NEXT AW12 preview was really inspiring and fresh and i was completely snared by the collections produced by a couple of designers. But before i spark anymore excitement for tonight, i must apologise for my careless mistake for not bringing my camera out that day. Besides, with a non-techie nokia N97, i felt absolutely helpless that day. I would have a lot to show and tell right now if i weren't that careless but i promise i'll talk about my favorites really soon. I had a back up plan, so please don't be too disappointed and be patient with the ninja turtle.

Back to the purpose of today's post, La  Soirée Blanche, a fashion show collaboration with SPF(SpunkPunkFunk) and RDI(Raffles Design Institude) for the local children's charity. It was an entertaining night with VJs like Roger Poon and Abigail Chay, models that rocked the show with dramatic make-up and vociferous apparels, just the SPF attitude.

Although, i was there to help to run the event and document the show, surely less comfortable than being an audience, i had a pretty good time interacting and getting hyped up with the models. It was quite an exposure for myself because it was officially my first time leading a group of people(students and models), with two other friends, to work together for a show.

Anyway, below are a couple of pictures took with my 'little flash' camera in a dark place meant for dancers and not small scale photographers like me. Thank goodness for Andrew's external flash which was more suitable for the lack of lighting in ZIRCA but i sort of wasted the function of the external flash because i wasn't a bit familiar with such bulky device. Besides, i never knew holding a camera with an external flash in my hands would cause my weak arms to ache so much.

Without further ado, go on and scroll wheel down the post. I wish you lovely people a blessed weekend!

Reflection.

Shirt+skirt:Vintage, Pineapple socks:DressBarn, Yogabagaba loafers:Vans, Earrings:Six

First week of school is over, home works and researches are pilling up, the best thing i could think about everyday is my long weekend for a term. A four days school is amazing because i could finally breathe and not worry about being a minute late and get marked absent. Honestly, the attendance regulations are giving me nightmares and my body clock is not being nice to me by telling me to go to sleep at only 1am every night.

Hence, i would like to apologize for not managing my time/myself well enough this week and only post a picture(taken by Isaac while i visit him at SPF). I appreciate his habit of snapping pictures of people in the shop like a paparazzi. If not for this picture, i would be called a bum(py) blogger for the rest of my life.

Really, i don't know why is it that i'm starting to wear a lot of men clothing. Sometimes i would just slip myself into my dad's clothing and get tempted to just walk out of the house dressing up like a man. Well, who knows, just one day when i get bored of my own wardrobe, i may just invade into my dad's wardrobe and walk out like a boss.

The prints on the shirt was the one that caught my attention when it was hung at the booth at the flea market in new jersey. It's an art on a material made into a simple piece of man shirt during the vintage era. Ignore the crease, look at the different prints, don't they looked like they are just repetitive pictures at first sight?

To me, the shirt is like the woman's fashion diary. It's like a something that i do except that i don't need somebody to paint a picture of my outfit, with the convenience of technology, all i need is a camera. She poses in different outfits at different locations with her dog or with somebody. Whereas, i pose with myself at different locations with my tripod stand opposite me, instead of an artist. Now you see why i had to bring this back home, because that could be me if i were born in that era.

I am Queen & King.

Last saturday was the Clozette Inter-Campus Pageant (SMU + NTU + NUS) photo shoot at Wisma Atria. The pageants were modeling in SpunkPunkFunk, Forever New and MDS's apparels and i had plenty of fun, along with Regina, Issac and Jen, helping out a bunch of enthusiastic good looking people at their photo shoot.

Below are a couple of things at the event that entertained me and almost sparked the little shopaholic monster in me. Thank goodness majority of them were men t-shirts or Jen's personal accessories (which were highly not applicable/available to me.) The only thing that i had real trouble within was the white sandals from forever new, above, which i have convinced myself that the sight of it should be satisfying enough until i get a closet for my shoes. (The rise of my shoe population have caused the rest of the family's shoes unhappiness due to congestion. I am guilty conscious.)

Anyway, i am so glad that the long weekend is about to approach and that i will be spending everyday of it with my family at Kuala Lumpur. As for you, i hope that you'll have a productive happy public hoilday. Be it with the family, socializing, catching up with friends, have a happy national day holiday tomorrow!

Lastly, all the best to every single participants and i wish all college students a pleasant time back in school! Cheers!

Happy Monday to You.

The hair is growing long and the holiday is growing short. It is about time i get a new haircut before my face gets buried under that bush. How did your weekend went? It's probably going to be the last carefree and burdenless sunday night, after 9 months, even though i have technically one more week left till the end of  the not-so-endless holiday. All those forceful expressions on my face.. I apologize if you're not comfortable with it at all but that's the way i try to captivate optimism in me so that when i look in the mirror, everything will seem fine.

On the day i had this old jumper and bow tie on (from Forte Greene Flea Market in brooklyn), i had a couple of people doing the same actions and shouting the same word- Elmo. They had a hand on their waist and the other on their chin like a nike sign and they paused for awhile trying to recall something then suddenly, "Elmo! You look like elmo!".

Really? Do i really looked like elmo? Because i kept looking at the pictures and i still don't see an elmo in that outfit. Although, i felt like a PowerRanger with the big Adidas digital watch on...

I never really liked digital watches because of all the noise that they make every hourly that i find very embarrassing. But it didn't take me long to decide that i wanted this watch because i've had my eyes on it ever since last year. There was a girl at tuition with the same watch but in purple, and my eyes would always drift away from the white board to the watch. In fact, i think the watch was the greatest distraction during tuition...My goodness, who knew watches could be such great distraction...

p.s I fell asleep last night before i post this up.

Here's an inspiring quote for you to hang in throughout the week. Happy Monday, love.

In Fifteen Years Time...

Turquoise top: Flea market
Pleated vintage skirt: Dustbunny Vintage
Vintage Heels: Dustbunny Vintage

Before i continue to blabber about the outfit, i must apologize for abandoning you all for a week. I've been trying to complete the things i have in hands, catch up with a few of my friends before i disappear for 3 months and now that i'm in LA i'm more or less settled down so here i am back again. Forgive me, alright?

Blue+Vintage, fitting my most comfortable colour with vintage and look, that's what i got. What more with my new hairstyle. Pulling all of it together and look at my own reflections in the lift through those small windows felt a little strange... I was wondering if all these would work out in fifteen years time and i thought, maybe yes. Then i thought, "oh dear, maybe i look like an old heck now..." I got tired of thinking so i imagined to walk like how i would walk in fifteen years time.(Don't ask me how i was walking then, it felt the same so i don't know what was going through my mine.) Maybe i was feeling like a rabbit. But rabbits hop, Elisa.. Right, i'm blabbering now so i'm gonna go to sleep while you get yourself ready for more exciting posts for the next three months. If not then just let me think that they're actually very exciting.

I just didn't know what to write about this post so i decided to be lame+random and do something short with all these pictures. Anyway, it is the very first post with my new hairstyle. I am really thankful to have such a talented aunt(Serene from Kimage-Kovan) to cut my hair. The awesome thing is that i never have to tell her what sort of hairstyle i wanted. I recommend you guys to get your haircuts from her, she's a senior hairstylist from KIMAGE and i can guarantee you that u`ll be satisfied with her skills. Pinky.
