The Crowded Mind of Mine.

The Christmas season is over, church camp has ended, did a photoshoot for NYP's fashion spread, caught up with a few close friends, knitting has begun and holiday is coming to an end. These were the happenings for the past week and i've been trying to do more but tiredness keeps getting to me. My apologies for neglecting the blog for a week and a half but i will always come back because i miss it everyday. In addition, i have to confess that i did not transfer my images before my sissy brings the camera with her to the UK for holiday. Please forgive me for my carelessness, i hope that the fruityappleiphone5 will help!

Truthfully, it doesn't seem like i have done a lot of things which produced tangible results but i am very pleased with the intangibles that has happened. I had time to develop myself in many aspects in life during this holiday, including physical horizontal growth due to the intake of turkeys for two consecutive days. Seems like i never really need to learn how to cook well since i am so blessed with excellent cooks in my life! Reflecting on the past week, while i may seem to be missing in action, actually makes me feel less lost in the maze in my head. The year is coming to an end, there are many things i tell myself i have to complete before the new year approaches yet fighting with time becomes a waste of everything from energy to time itself, so i just go with the flow. We just gotta keep swimming.

Below's outfit is what i call the mix. Shien's own DIY clutch, vintage bow tie and floral dress shirt, blazer from H&M, a casual jeans from japan, men socks from Brooke Brothers and desert boots from Clarks. These is exactly what i love to do most, mixing the new with the old and the own. It's exciting when you have the outfit conversation because there is always so much to tell. From vintage in LA, to Clarks in Hong Kong, to DIY at home. Everything counts.

I'm eager to talk to you patient and lovely readers soon. But it's time i end off here and start on my research for school before i end my day. Have a productive and peaceful week ahead as we courageously welcome the new year with open arms!

The Multi-coloured Darling

Black vintage dress
Red converse highcuts
Shien's Multi-coloured clutch
Bigbird diva earrings

The collage maker is gonna be my new toy for awhile until i learn to master photoshop like a shifu. Anyway, i have decided that i will make this clutch for anybody that loves it. You may choose your own colour combination from green, red, blue, yellow, grey to black for your clutch and it'll be done and sent to you in a week time. If you're actually wondering if the flimsy whimsy looking clutch is steady or not, you can be sure that it's pretty durable because it has pass my tough training-bringing it around with things filled to the brim of the clutch, not hiding it under the umbrella when it rains, being all rough and tough with it when i'm digging for my handphone and etc. So, no worries as long as you love it. Love overcomes all, even if it's tough love.

For more details of the clutch or if you love the clutch and wish to save the earth together with me, please email me at elisalim_shien@hotmail.com and i promise to get back to you asap.

I tried making sense of it, and then I realised I should be trying to make sense as to why I was even trying to make sense...

( I had to put this picture up even thought the clearer one is below because this one makes my legs look longer.Pardon me.)
Psychedelic printed top: Old fashion shop in Bukit Timah Shopping Centre
Blue Skirt:GARAGE in the states
Moustache Shoe: Shien
Brooches: Handmade gifts from friends
Duct tape Clutch: Shien

Hey ho, fellows! Stop and stare at the almost psychedelic top that i got from a old fashion shop at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre(Yes, the shopping centre that everybody goes to to look for the perfect maid) I tell you, do not be fooled by the architectural works of the building that may make the mall seems unwanted and useless, you will be amazed and surprised by the treasures in there.

The two brooches that i've pinned at the collar of a sleeveless top worn beneath the almost psychedelic printed blouse... Can you see that the two brooches makes the eyes of something and the circular black print over the bigger circular white print actually looks like the nose of a dog, hence it looks a little like a funky funny dog we imagine to see in a cartoon? Oh god i almost got lost in that long sentence.
So, yes! The wonders brooches can create to an outfit. Awesome huh.

Did you notice that the clutch that  i'm carrying is made out of duct tapes and magazines? I used magazines as the base of the clutch to make it less flimsy and the 3 different colour duct tapes to make my clutch more colourful. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Good for the environment, my loves. Let's be environmental friendly and save the earth.(I'm sorry these all sound so cliche but these are the only few lines that i can remember when i listen to speeches/debates regarding the environment in school.) Maybe i should just stop talking about being environmental already, i will feel like a hypocrite the next time i throw my can drinks into the dustbin and not the recycling bin.

Well, i still made a clutch using magazines and i shall continue to justify myself by encouraging you all to also try to work your right brain a little bit more by reusing, reducing and recycling anything into something usable again. Try it, it can be pretty fun!
